Week 6 — Art Activity — Intermedia

I wanted to address the wildfires that are still on going so I decided to paint the sunset. Currently the smoke is giving us all these pretty colors and sunsets, but we must remember it is because of the fires which many firefighters and responders are still fighting.

I was deciding between paint, watercolor, and color pencil

I ended up using paint because I felt it captured the colors more accurately. If I choose to use watercolor the colors would not be as vibrant. For color pencil I had limited choices and I felt that It would be harder to blend. Paint was the way to go for me because it would give me the color and effect that I was trying to achieve.

I am very satisfied with how it turned out especially the sky. I feel that I blended it well and although it indirectly addresses the fire I feel like the message was conveyed.
